Inga Mårtensson’s 97th birthday

From Hanna Larsson’s 50th birthday 1935 let’s visit the birthday of her daughter 2015. A few days ago, the 28th of September, Inga Mårtensson celebrated her 97th birthday, which means that she now is the oldest member of our entire family. I am sure all followers of this blog will join in sending her their warmest congratulations.

Erik Klingberg with Joshua, Inga, Mathias Klingberg and Annika Balldin.

Gunnel Klingberg, daughter of Erik and Inga Mårtensson, writes:

We were there at her 97th birthday. I brought with me Erik with Joshua (soon to be two years old), Annika and Mathias to visit her. She had been resting and lighted up when she saw me. ”Oh, how nice that you are coming!”

I felt like she recognized my children too and was happy to see them. We brought her out in the sun, and she was in a good mood. We small talked and she was curious and asked us questions. I told her that we met Una and Lena and it seemed like she remembered them. I told her that Una and Lennart had been in Malmö and looked at the houses where they had lived at Grynbodgatan 6 and 7. Then she smiled.

She loved to see Joshua, it is fantastic to see how much joy a child brings among the old people and the staff as well. I am very happy and grateful that she was so much with us this time. I quoted what she has used to say the last years: ” It is crazy how old one is!” and then she laughed.
